My enjoyment of each path is generally in spite of these issues, as well as supplemented or hindered by character-specific choices. The controls (I played on an Xbox controller) were also pretty janky. I was constantly fighting it in order to do anything I wanted to. ![]() I have to start off on a bad note: the camera sucks. I liked what I saw with the 2D stuff, but the 3D stuff left a lot to be desired, so against my better judgment, I didn't skip to SA2 and played the first one as a grown man. My experience before playing this one, for context, is a couple levels each in Sonic and Sonic 2, a little of Mania, and the first bits of Secret Rings and Unleashed. ![]() I've played tragically few Sonic the Hedgehog games. ![]() Sonic Adventure: Director's Cut is flawed, inconsistent, and grating at times, but somehow it's exactly what I needed to feel like a kid again.
